Crises management team reviews preparations to address potential disasters Monday, March 25, 2019 Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al-Marri, commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, has chaired the first meeting of the crisis and disaster management team in the Emirate of Dubai in 2019 at the Medan Hotel. The meeting was attended by Director of NCEMA Dubai Office Ali Salim bin Kenaid Al Falasi and other members of the team who represent different governmental institutions and departments. The meeting reviewed decisions of previous meetings and their implementation along with the aspects related to preparations of the departments to address any probable disaster, as well as other agenda topics. Al-Marri stressed the importance of standing as one to promote the preparations of the team to professionally address the potential crises and disasters. He pointed out that Dubai is now taken as a model of joint action by different bodies not only at the local or regional level, but also at the international level, thanks to directives of the wise leadership on the need for coordination and cooperation to provide the best services. Expert Colonel Ahmed Bourguiba, Director of Dubai Police Crisis and Disaster Management reviewed the most important accomplishment of the crisis and disaster management team in 2018. He also presented the most important projects and initiatives for 2019, including the development of a crisis and disaster management operations center and the development of a crisis and disaster management system.
